Short Stories

Below will give you a taste of the stories that like to appear in my head and I manage produce at a shorter length. Some are outright wacky, there are a few depressing ones. I promise I'm going to try and start writing some humourous ones one day soon.

Almost

This is a 500 word short Story that I wrote in August 2025 for the NYC Midnight 500 word challenge. It really was a challenge and one I thoroughly enjoyed.

The brief was: action/adventure as a genre and birdseed as an object. The action was to remove a stain.

It was a very strange experience but I'm proud of it. Enjoy

Familiar

Is a short story I wrote in 2018. It reflects my then obsession with witch trials and their injustice. It was my first time really deciding to play around with a short story form.

The End of Days

This was a short story I wrote for my EPQ qualification in 2008! It is my first real piece of writing I allowed anyone to see. I studied the Book of Revelations as part of the research element of this project.

I haven't edited or changed any of this with my much older eye of today as I don't think it would be right. It shows my progression as a writer and my voice when I was a teenager. You maybe able to tell, this is where my obsession with religious allegory started.

More to Follow

There will undoubtably be more to follow as I randomly write them, or enter more competitions or find old projects.
